Spotlight on "At the Movies" Dance Recital

Writer: EricJonesEricJones

On Wednesday, March 19, the stage at Baldwin High School Performing Arts Center was transformed into a cinematic dance sequence as Lakeview Academy and Midway Hills Academy presented their highly anticipated annual dance recital, At the Movies.

A dazzling cast of 225 young dancers lit up the stage, performing an electrifying variety of routines inspired by beloved films. The audience was treated to a captivating journey through Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, and Hip-Hop, each piece set to iconic movie soundtracks that sparked both nostalgia and excitement.

From graceful ballet sequences that floated across the stage to high-energy hip-hop numbers that brought the crowd to its feet, these talented students showcased months of dedication, creativity, and passion for their craft. The production was not just a recital — it was a full-fledged celebration of movement, music, and the magic of storytelling through dance.

With every leap, turn, and beat, the dancers proved that the arts are alive and thriving in Baldwin County. Bravo to all the performers, instructors, and families who made At the Movies an unforgettable night under the spotlight!
