Social Media Post

Dear Baldwin County School District Families,

Today, the Baldwin County School District was made aware of a message circulating on various social media platforms indicating a "threat" against our schools. Law enforcement was immediately involved to ensure all safety protocols were implemented. Based on the investigation, it has been determined that no credible threat exists. Furthermore, the person who created this threat was identified, and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.

The safety and security of our students and staff will always be our top priority. All threats are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly in coordination with local and state law enforcement entities and social media platform legal services. We thank the parents and students who reported the concerning social media post to us. If you see something, say something.

We ask parents to take this opportunity to discuss the importance of good digital citizenship and the proper reporting of any threatening behaviors or social media postings to school officials, law enforcement, or adults as soon as possible. Also, please speak with your children about the seriousness of words and threats in today's school environment, which have substantial consequences. We urge all students and families to refrain from reposting threats and rumors online. Students who create or share threatening posts may face criminal charges and maximum school disciplinary consequences for their behavior.

As a precautionary measure, we have requested an increased presence of law enforcement on our school campuses through the remainder of this week. We want to thank the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office and the Milledgeville Police Department for their assistance with this incident and for keeping our school community safe.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to ensure a safe and secure environment for all our students and staff.

Sincerely,

Dr. Noris Price

School Superintendent
