The Georgia College Early College (GCEC) made an impressive sweep at the Foreign Language Association of Georgia Speaking Competition held in Savannah, marking a significant achievement for the program. Demonstrating exceptional skill and preparation, GCEC's participants stood out among the competition, with ten out of fifteen competitors attaining the highest score of "superior." This achievement speaks volumes about the students' professionalism and proficiency in Spanish and French, qualities that evidently impressed the judges and set a high standard for excellence.
Special recognition is due to the parents, Mr. Gutierrez and Mrs. Lua, GCSU sophomore Paola Martinez, and GCSU professor Dr. Rosado, who volunteered their time to assist in the students' preparation and accompanied them on this educational journey. Their contribution played a pivotal role in readying the students for the challenges of the competition, underscoring the importance of community involvement in educational achievements.
Celebrating their hard-earned success, the students and their supporters enjoyed a well-deserved authentic lunch at Rancho Alegre Cuban Restaurant. This was not just a moment of relaxation, but also an opportunity to immerse themselves further in the linguistic and cultural diversity that they had showcased during the competition. Following the meal, they took a sunny stroll down River Street, allowing them to reflect on their accomplishments and the enriching experience of the day.
The achievements of GCEC at the Foreign Language Association of Georgia Speaking Competition are a beacon of encouragement for the pursuit of multilingualism and cultural diversity. As the community celebrates this achievement, the hope is that it will inspire continued enthusiasm and participation in language learning and cultural exchange. ¡Que vivan el multilingüismo y la diversidad!
