The Baldwin County Nutrition Department is participating in the USDA Farmers to Families Food Box program this summer. The program is designed to help needy families maintain access to fresh produce and healthy food during the COVID-19 pandemic. Every Wednesday, from 10 a.m. – until all boxes are gone., beginning Wednesday, June 3, the BCSD School Nutrition Department staff and volunteers will distribute boxes of fresh produce to the public in a drive-thru set up. The distribution site will be located at Lakeview Academy’s in the back parking lot. Anyone choosing to pick up a food box must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Distribution days are scheduled to take place every Wednesday from June 3 – August 26. This is a free service to the public and an additional way for the Baldwin County School District to help families suffering from food insecurity in the Milledgeville/Baldwin County community during these challenging times.
