Dr. Noris Price Elected President of the Georgia School Superintendents Association

The Baldwin County School District (BCSD) is proud to announce that Superintendent Dr. Noris Price has been elected President of the Georgia School Superintendents Association (GSSA), a testament to her transformative leadership and commitment to elevating educational outcomes for children. She has been superintendent of the BCSD since 2014 and was named the Georgia Superintendent of the Year and one of four finalists for National Superintendent of the Year in 2022.

With a distinguished career in education and a passion for ensuring that all students have opportunities to achieve their dreams and aspirations, Dr. Price is well-positioned to lead the GSSA in its mission to support and advance the educational interests of Georgia’s public schools. She will serve as GSSA President until July 2025.

“I am deeply honored to have been elected by my peers to serve as the President of the Georgia School Superintendents Association,” said Dr. Noris Price. “I look forward to working collaboratively with superintendents across Georgia to continue to advocate for public education and the children of this great state."

The swearing-in ceremony occurred in July during the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders (GAEL) Summer Conference. Along with Dr. Price, GSSA will have the following superintendents serving as officers: Dr. Fred “Bubba” Longgrear, Superintendent of Candler County Schools, as President-Elect; Dr. Craig Lockhart, Superintendent of Valdosta City Schools, as Secretary-Treasurer; Dr. Mark Scott, Superintendent of Houston County Schools, as the GSSA GAEL Board Member at Large; and Dr. Jason Branch, Superintendent of Oconee County Schools, as Past-President. These superintendents serve as GSSA officers and the GSSA Executive Committee for the 2024-2025 term.

The Baldwin County School District extends its heartfelt congratulations to Superintendent Dr. Noris Price on this prestigious honor.
