Mr. Hornung is working in his third year for the Baldwin County School District. Mr. Hornung currently works as the Aviation Teacher at the Baldwin College and Career Academy.
Mr. Hornung was nominated by Dr. Damita Jones. Dr. Jones had the following to say, “I highly recommend Mr. Hornung for his pursuit of excellence in the workplace. Mr. Hornung consistently goes the extra mile for his students and co-workers, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to their success. He actively seeks advice and utilizes feedback to improve his work, and his willingness to collaborate and support others is truly commendable. He consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic, and his dedication to professional growth is evident in his proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous learning. Mr. Bowman is working in his third year for the Baldwin County School District. Mr. Bowman currently works as a School Psychologist for the Baldwin County School District.
Mr. Bowman was nominated by his supervisor, Michelle O’Gormen Maurer. Mrs. O’Gorman-Maurer had the following to say, “Brian continues to demonstrate his commitment to the Baldwin County School district by helping evaluate students in need of support, providing coaching and feedback to teachers to support classroom interventions, and providing leadership to a number of programs and staff in the PEC department. He continues to be a model of excellence in the district.”

Ms. Medlock is in her sixteenth year with the Baldwin County School District. She currently teaches music at Lakeview Primary and Midway Hills Primary schools.
Ms. Medlock was nominated by her colleague, Crystal Smith. Ms. Smith had the following to say, “Ms. Medlock has volunteered to take on the challenge of being a traveling music teacher split between two schools. In taking the split school position, she allowed our students at Midway Hills Primary to continue to have Music class. Every child I see walk into her classroom is excited to see her and hear her pleasant voice singing softly as they enter. Ms. Medlock is also a very kind and caring person to her coworkers. I look forward to continuing to work with her this year and getting to know the awesome person that she is. Thank you for loving on our babies here at MHP as well as your home school! ”

Ms. Ross is working in her fifth year for the Baldwin County School District as a Special Education Teacher at Midway Hills Primary.
Ms. Ross was nominated by her principal, Tara Burney. Mrs. Burney had the following to say, “Ms. Regina Ross is being nominated as the Pursuit of Excellence award winner because she has consistently assisted Midway Hills Primary with special education matters. She has a wealth of knowledge and is very well endorsed in many areas. She has supported and mentored new PEC teachers. I also reach out to her for guidance to make sure we make the best decisions for students.
In the classroom, she is a model co-teacher. She works with all students to provide them with the support they need. She exemplifies what it means to be a special education teacher and mentor."

About the Pursuit of Excellence Award
The Baldwin County School District (BCSD) Pursuit of Excellence Award is an employee recognition program. This award is presented monthly to employees who go above and beyond the call of duty. A maximum of four employees will be chosen monthly and recognized during the regular Baldwin County Board of Education Meeting. Employees may be cited for a single act or long-term excellence. Any Baldwin County School District employee is eligible for nomination, so long as they have not previously received the award. Team or groups are not eligible for recognition. Nominations may be made by any BCSD employee, student, parent, or community member. Nominations are due by the fourth Tuesday of each month.
