In a powerful collaboration to support local youth, CREATE Inc., Community Baptist Church, Oconee Outfitters, and Kennesaw State University have donated brand-new bicycles to the Baldwin County Board of Education. The bicycle donation underscores the partners' shared mission to uplift the community through health, education, and opportunity. For many students, having access to a bicycle can mean more than just a ride—it’s a gateway to independence, improved physical health, and the joy of exploration.
“This partnership is a shining example of what we can achieve when we come together for a common goal,” said Gregory Barnes, Executive Director of CREATE Inc. "This initiative promotes active lifestyles, outdoor exploration, and accessible transportation for Baldwin County students."
Oconee Outfitters, known for championing outdoor activities in the Milledgeville area, provided logistical expertise to ensure bicycles were suitable for student use. "We’re excited to play a role in equipping Baldwin County youth to explore nature, stay active, and enjoy the freedom that comes with cycling," said Adam Heagy, owner of Oconee Outfitters.
Community Baptist Church provided additional resources to bring the vision to life. Rev. Chip
Reeves of Community Baptist Church stated, "We are honored to be part of this effort to invest in our children’s futures. A bicycle is more than a gift—it’s a chance to dream and explore."
The bicycles were officially presented to the Baldwin County Board of Education at the
Community Baptist Church,143 Log Cabin Rd NE, last month.
