BCSD Welcomes New Lakeview Academy Principal Corian Roberson

Congratulations to Corian Roberson, who the Board of Education approved as the new principal of Lakeview Academy.  Mr. Corian (Cory) Roberson firmly believes that every child can learn, grow, and be successful. A dedicated educator and leader, he has devoted his career to fostering academic achievement and personal growth among students.

Born in Augusta, Georgia, and raised as a military dependent, Mr. Roberson experienced a diverse range of educational environments during his travels. These experiences shaped his passion for education and service. After his family's military tours concluded, they relocated to Statesboro, Georgia, where he continued to build his foundation in both faith and education.

After graduating from Statesboro High School in 2006, he began his college journey at Fort Valley State University before transferring to Brewton-Parker College, where he earned a B.A. in Middle Grades Education with a minor in Christian Studies. Committed to continuous learning and growth, he later obtained a Master’s in Education from Georgia Southern University.

He then furthered his education at Georgia College & State University, earning a Master’s in Educational Leadership. Corian Roberson is currently pursuing his doctorate at Mercer University, with a focus on Educational Leadership.

Corian Roberson spent 10 years with the Washington County School District in Sandersville, GA, where he taught 4th and 5th grade Science, Math, and Writing. During his tenure, he took on multiple leadership roles, including grade chair and coordinator of the S.T.A.R.S. mentoring program for at-risk male students.

Currently, he serves as an administrator at Emanuel County Institute (ECI), where he is committed to fostering student success in both academics and athletics. His leadership is centered on creating opportunities for students to excel, ensuring that every child has the support and resources needed to reach their full potential.

In addition to his work in education, Corian Roberson has been serving in ministry since a young age. He accepted his calling to the gospel ministry at the age of 16 and was later ordained as a minister. Now in his fifth year as pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Warthen, GA, he continues to inspire others through his leadership in both education and ministry.

While attending Fort Valley State University, Corian met Befaney (King) Roberson. The two married and are the proud parents of three beautiful children: Corian Jr., Taylor, & Daniel.

Corian Roberson remains committed to the belief that education is a powerful tool for transformation, and through his work, he strives to create a positive impact on every student, ensuring they have the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
