BCSD Welcomes Markeeta Clayton as the New Assistant Principal at Baldwin High School

We are delighted to extend our warmest congratulations to Mrs. Markeeta Clayton on her appointment as the new assistant principal at Baldwin High School. With 22 years of experience in the field of education, 16 of which were dedicated right here in Baldwin County, Clayton brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role. She has served as a teacher, department chair, assistant principal, and principal.

A proud Baldwin County native and a graduate of Baldwin High School herself, Clayton's educational background is impressive, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry from Georgia College and State University. Additionally, she holds a Master's in Public Health from Mercer University, as well as Specialist degrees in Middle Grades Education and Educational Leadership, both from Georgia College and State University. This extensive educational journey showcases her passion for learning and professional development.

Education, according to Clayton, is the initial avenue to what Thomas Jefferson called "freedom in all just pursuits" and she is committed to providing students with the tools they need to achieve college and career readiness. Her dedication to empowering young minds for a successful future is truly inspiring.

As Clayton returns to her alma mater, we are certain that her passion, experience, and love for the Baldwin County community will have a profound and positive impact on both students and staff. Her strong ties to the district as a former student, coupled with her extensive educational background and commitment to the students' well-being, make her an exceptional addition to the leadership team at Baldwin High School.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Clayton finds joy in her personal life as well. She has been happily married to Malcolm Clayton Sr. for 23 years, and together they have raised two sons, Malcolm Clayton Jr. and Michael Clayton.

Once again, congratulations to Mrs. Markeeta Clayton on her new role as assistant principal at Baldwin High School. We look forward to witnessing the positive changes she will undoubtedly bring to the school community. With a Brave like Clayton leading the way, we can expect a bright and promising future for the Baldwin County School District.
