
The Pursuit of Excellence award is presented to employees who go above and beyond the call of duty. Nominations can be made by BCSD employees, students, parents and community members. The nomination form can be found on our website under the Human Resources Department tab.
Congratulations to the following employees who are the March 2025 Pursuit of Excellence Award recipients for the Baldwin County School District.

Elise Naber-Allen
Oak Hill Middle School Band Director
Elise Naber-Allen is working in her fourth year for the Baldwin County School District. Mrs. Nabar-Allen currently works as the Band Director at Oak Hill Middle School.
Mrs. Allen was nominated by her colleague, Trent Henderson. Mr. Henderson had the following to say, “Mrs. Allen works incredibly hard teaching our nearly 250 band students at Oak Hill Middle School while, at the same time, working on her fourth degree and managing our fundraisers, field trip sign-ups and administrative responsibilities that go along with running a band program. She also teaches part-time as an adjunct flute professor at Georgia College & State University. Mrs. Allen recently completed the Specialist program and is currently enrolled in the Doctoral program at Auburn University. Future Dr. Allen strives to be the best band director and human. In addition to her work at Oak Hill and Georgia College, she is also a sought-after presenter at many state and national professional development conferences. She's presented at the prestigious MidWest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago as well as the Georgia Music Educators' Association In-Service Conference in Athens, GA among several others. Mrs. Allen is a joy to work with and is often ready to serve on committees and councils to help continue towards the goal of excellence at Oak Hill Middle School, Baldwin County, Georgia College, and across the state..”

Lamona Bowens
Bus Driver for the Baldwin County School District
Lamona Bowens is working in her first year for the Baldwin County School District. Ms. Bowens currently works as a bus driver for our district.
Ms. Bowens was nominated by Dr. Jamie Steinmeyer, a teacher at Lakeview Academy. Dr. Steinmeyer had the following to say, “Ms. Lamona is such a kind and caring bus driver. When she arrives at Lakeview Academy, she always counts to ensure she has all her students and no one is left behind. It truly shows her dedication and effort to ensure everyone makes it safely to their destination. Her friendly and positive attitude should not go unnoticed. I simply wanted to say Thank You for a job well done. ”

Candace Collins
Family Engagement Coordinator at Lakeview Academy School
Candace Collins is working in her second year for the Baldwin County School District. She currently works as the Family Engagement Coordinator at Lakeview Academy School.
Ms. Collins was nominated by her colleague, Jasmine Terrell. Mrs. Terrell had the following to say, “Ms. Collins helps with our families who are in need. She also helps with attendance. The students come to her when they need to vent. She fosters a warm environment and makes everyone feel comfortable. She always wears a smile and goes above and beyond for staff and our students.”

Anna Hamilton
1st Grade Paraprofessional at Midway Hills Primary School
Anna Hamilton is working in her third year for the Baldwin County School District. She is currently working as a 1st Grade Paraprofessional at Midway Hills Primary School.
Ms. Hamilton was nominated by her colleague, Jennifer Smith. Ms. Smith had the following to say, “Ms. Hamilton is an angel! Her calm and consistent demeanor sets the tone for our classroom climate. Our students adore Ms. Hamilton! They are constantly making her unique creations from the heart. No matter how "unique" the creation, she proudly displays her gifts for all to see. I am extremely thankful for Ms. Hamilton's positive attitude. She brightens my day even when the going gets tough. Even though this is our first year working together, she has the ability to read my mind. I never have to ask her to complete a task, because it's already done! Thank you so much, Ms. Hamilton! You are such a treasure to MHP."
