BCSD Leadership Attends Retreat with Guest Speaker Sucheta Kamath

The Baldwin County School District got a strong dose of mental wellness during its June Leadership Retreat with special guest Sucheta Kamath, the CEO and founder of ExQ. Ms. Kamath is a much sought-after speaker for Executive Function training, which is the part of the brain that governs skills essential to adjusting to abrupt shifts to environmental circumstances. This makes her work particularly relevant to the field of education.

The presentation, entitled "Beyond Burnout: A Mindful Path to Reducing Stress, Enhancing Well-Being and Flourishing", allowed the BCSD Leadership Team to perform exercises, role-playing, and brainstorm strategies for managing the way they think, feel, act, and communicate in order to manage their own well-being and the needs of others.
