Baldwin County School District had the opportunity to honor the school nutrition department last month. Please join us in thanking our nutrition staff for providing our students with the necessary nutrition that they need to focus and excel in the classroom.
National School Lunch Week was declared in 1962, the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) goes back even further, back to 1946. Created to provide nutritious meals to children for families who might not otherwise have access to a daily meal, NSLP ensures the health and well-being of all public school students, boosts academic performance by giving students the fuel they need to succeed, and closes the opportunity gap for children across the country. Today, the National School Lunch Program serves nearly 30 million children every school day. Not only does it reduce childhood hunger, but it also supports American agriculture.
The Baldwin County School District would like to thank our school nutrition staff for their dedication to our students and their education. Their contributions to our district and students do not go unnoticed! We hope you will join us in sharing our heartfelt appreciation for what they do each and every day.
