On Friday, September 13th, Baldwin High School held its annual graduation commitment ceremony for the freshman class. This ceremony starts the students' high school careers off on the right foot and sets the expectations for their future.
This year students had the pleasure of hearing from speaker Mr. Clyde Lewis III. Mr. Lewis is a former American professional football player who played linebacker for 13 seasons with the New York Jets of the National Football League. He played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs and was drafted by the Jets in the third round of the 1991 NFL draft.
"The choices you make today will decide your future," Mr. Lewis shared. Students had the opportunity to hear about Mr. Lewis's early life and how his decisions enabled him to follow his dream and play for the NFL.
Afterward, students came up to the stage and signed graduation gowns. This signature is the student's promise that they are committing to graduating.
