The Baldwin County School District (BCSD) launched the new academic year with a convocation that embodied hope and promise. Willie Spears' keynote speech ignited a sense of purpose, highlighting the district's collective passion for educational excellence and setting the tone for a year of growth and achievement.
The Convocation showcased uplifting speeches from esteemed guests, including Shannon Hill, BCSD School Board Chair; Mary Parham-Copelan, Mayor of the City of Milledgeville; Sammy Hall, Baldwin County Commissioner; Dr. Noris Price, BCSD Superintendent; Mary Ashley McCue, BCSD Teacher of the Year; Matt Adams, Deputy Superintendent; and Anitra Douglas, Human Resources Director. Additionally, the 2024-2025 School Teachers of the Year - Moleshia Little (LPS), Tomeishia Stanton (MHP), Diondrea Whipple (LVA), Laura Franklin (MHA), Shekita Shinholster (OHM), William Brunson (BHS) - were honored for making a difference in students' lives and for their exceptional educational contributions. A special thanks to all the elected officials, Oconee RESA staff, and community members who were in attendance and helped to make this event a huge success.
