
Four Students Qualify for International Competition in Orlando
The Baldwin County School District is proud to announce that four outstanding students from Baldwin High School’s DECA chapter will advance to the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) Competition in Orlando this April. These students qualified after excelling at the Georgia DECA State Career Development Conference in Atlanta earlier this year.

DECA, a key Career Technical Student Organization at Baldwin High School, plays a vital role in preparing our students for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. As part of the Marketing and Management pathway, DECA empowers students with real-world business experiences, fosters leadership development, and promotes civic responsibility.
Student Spotlights: Meet Our ICDC Qualifiers
Tene’ Brimm – 3rd Place in State
Tene’ Brimm, a senior at GCEC and Baldwin DECA’s Vice President of Leadership, earned 3rd place in the Apparel and Accessories Marketing Series at State. She will now advance to ICDC after also placing 4th at Region and receiving top marks at the DECA Fall Rally. A judge praised her presentation as "outstanding" and noted, “You will be great at whatever you do.”
Leslie Perez Vasquez – Top 10 in State Testing
Leslie Perez Vasquez, senior and Vice President of Career Development, achieved a Top 10 finish in the Georgia-Only Testing Event in the Selling category, competing among nearly 700 participants. She also secured a 3rd place Region finish earlier this year.
Heymi Arguello Espinoza – ICDC Qualifier for Marketing Campaign
Heymi Arguello Espinoza, Baldwin DECA’s Chapter President and senior at GCEC, placed 11th in the Integrated Marketing Campaign – Event category. She presented an innovative Autism awareness fundraising campaign and earned her spot at ICDC. Heymi also scored a perfect 100 on the Georgia Statesman Exam and was a top performer at the Fall Leadership Conference.
Ayesha Patel – Financial Literacy Champion
Ayesha Patel, a senior and former Vice President of Hospitality, placed 15th in Personal Financial Literacy at State, after winning 1st place at Region for the third consecutive year.

National Recognition: Emerging Leader Awards
All four Baldwin DECA members were also named recipients of the 2025 DECA Emerging Leader Honor Award, recognizing their academic excellence, professional responsibility, community service, and leadership through DECA participation.

Beyond individual success, the Baldwin High DECA Chapter as a whole earned significant recognition at the State Conference:
Silver Level Chapter in the Georgia DECA Membership Campaign
Honored for the Georgia DECA Community Service Campaign
Recognized nationally in the 2024 DECA Community Service Campaign for outreach efforts, including a heartfelt project writing cards to Veterans.
The Baldwin High DECA Chapter continues to shine a positive light on Milledgeville and Baldwin County, representing our district on a national stage this spring.
