For the first time ever, the Baldwin Fine Arts Program created a cross-school production that included Midway Hills Academy, Midway Hills Primary, Lakeview Academy, and Lakeview Primary. Last Thursday and Friday, March 13th and 14th, the children filled not only just the stage but the seats as well as they ran about the audience barking and playing at various points in the program.
"This is something we’ve never done before,” said co-director Robyn Meeks, who serves as the theater and choir teacher for Midway Hills Academy. “It’s amazing to see how much work these kids put in.”

A District-Wide Collaboration
The project began in August, with auditions kicking off in September od 2024. Co-directors Meeks and Mrs. Leanne Medlock, Music Teacher at both Lakeview Primary School and Midway Hills Primary, led the charge.
“We wanted something that could include our younger students too,” explained Meeks. “101 Dalmatians was the perfect choice—with all those puppies, it gave us room for everyone to shine.”

Spotlight on Midway Hills Academy & Lakeview Academy
Students from Midway Hills Academy and Lakeview Academy played key roles in making this production a success. The energy and creativity of the performers brought the beloved Disney classic to life on stage at Baldwin High School Theater.
The collaboration was a true celebration of district unity and student talent.
Baldwin Academy Playhouse: Building Young Artists
“This production showcased what’s possible when we all come together,” Meeks said. “It was incredible to watch these students from different schools support one another and perform as one.”
