Welcome Message from Midway Hills Primary Principal Pamela Shields

Welcome to Midway Hills Primary School, home of the bears. I am incredibly excited to begin what promises to be a year filled with golden opportunities for all of our students as we strive to find ways that we can be even better than we have before! We embark on this journey with a pledge to you, our students and parents, that this will be a year of engaging, meaningful and rigorous work in our classrooms, combined with special events and a plethora of activities certain to encourage our families to be involved and stay connected!

I believe that all of us - the school and the community - must work collaboratively in an extended family environment to insure success for all our students. I believe it is everyone’s responsibility to empower children with the creative, intellectual, and decision-making skills necessary for them to become academically, socially, physically, and emotionally successful.

As more rigorous demands are expected of our staff and students, it becomes even more evident that we all must work together to insure our children reach their potential. Without you - the parent - our students may struggle. To insure all of our students exit Midway Hills Primary with a solid foundation in both English Language Arts and math, our students will be asked to complete two math sessions and three reading sessions of SuccessMaker each week as their homework.

I am extremely proud of our dedicated and enthusiastic staff! My confidence in their ability to teach your children is great and I anticipate great learning this year!

In closing, please know that we are here to serve our students. If your calendar allows, please join us for the following events:

Wednesday, July 26th - District Back to School Bash at Lakeview Academy (formerly Eagle Ridge) from 11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.

Monday, July 31st – MHP Open House from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Wednesday, August 2nd – First day of school for students.

The student school day is from 7:45 a.m.- 2:45 p.m.

Respectfully,

Pamela S. Shields, Principal
